Can I import a BOM from an Excel file?

You can import a BOM from Excel using two methods—via XAVIA or from the Edit BOM page. This allows you to upload bulk items from Excel into your design.

Method 1: Via XAVIA

To begin, click the Ask XAVIA button from the Dashboard.

Click the Attach icon to upload your file.

Select the file to upload the BOM, then click Open.

XAVIA will extract products from the uploaded file and prompt you to review the BOM. If you’d like, you can also include additional products suggested by XAVIA.

Click the appropriate option to proceed based on your preference.

Method 2: Via Edit BOM

To upload a BOM, go to the Search & Add Products page, where you can manage BOM items for your design, and click Upload BOM.

The XAVIA chat will open and prompt you to upload your file.

Note: BOM files can only be uploaded in Excel, CSV, or PDF format.

Once the file is uploaded, the BOM items will appear in the XAVIA chat for review.

Carefully verify the items, then click Yes to confirm and complete the upload. The process may take a few moments, so please wait.

After the upload is complete, the BOM list will be updated automatically.

You will also receive a confirmation message in the XAVIA chat stating that your BOM has been updated. If needed, you can continue making further changes.
