Can I Change How Products and Connections Appear in My Design?

Objective

Yes, in X-DRAW, you can customize how products (device blocks) and connections (cables/signals) appear in your drawings using X-DRAW Settings. The key areas for this are Cable & Signal Settings and Device Block Settings.

Steps To Edit Cable and Signal Settings.

  • Click on the Profile icon in the top-right corner of the application. From the menu, select Settings.

  • You will be redirected to the Settings page. Click on X-DRAW Settings. A drop-down menu will appear. Select Cable & Signal Settings from the list.

  • On the Cable & Signal Settings page, you will find five cable typesVideo, Audio, Control, Network, and Power. Select the cable type you want to edit and click the plus (+) icon on the right to expand and modify its settings.

  • After clicking the plus (+) icon, a dropdown with additional options will appear. From here, you can assign prefixes, define the cable numbering, set the cable thickness, and choose cable colors for the selected cable type.
  • Once you’ve made the required changes, click Save to apply the settings.

  • Open your drawing in the X-DRAW Editor. Click on X-DRAW Settings on the top menu bar. Under the Cable Settings section, select Pull Cable Settings.

Note: After applying changes in Pull Cable Settings, you must reapply the Number Settings or Style Settings for the updates to reflect correctly based on the latest configuration.

Steps To Edit Device Block Settings (Product Appearance)

  • Click on the Profile icon in the top-right corner and select Settings option.

  • Once you click on it, you will find the Device Block Settings option under the X-DRAW Settings tab.
  • On the Device Block Settings page, locate the Action button next to the device block name, where you will see the Edit option.

  • You can edit the font, border color, and the icon of your device block here. Once you’ve made the required changes, click Save to apply the settings.

Note: After changing the device block settings, any new device blocks added to the drawing will reflect the updated changes. However, the changes will not be applied to device blocks that already exist in the drawing.
