What happens after exceeding the maximum OTP attempts during 2FA login?

Objective

During the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) login process in XTEN-AV, users must enter a valid One-Time Password (OTP) to securely access their account.

If a user enters an incorrect OTP multiple times and exceeds the maximum allowed verification attempts, the login verification process will be automatically disabled for security reasons.

What Happens After Multiple Failed OTP Attempts?

  • The system monitors unsuccessful OTP verification attempts to help protect user accounts from unauthorized access.
  • If too many incorrect OTP entries are made:
  • The current login verification session will be automatically disabled.
  • The previously generated OTP will become invalid.
  • Users will no longer be able to continue the current 2FA verification process.

What Should Users Do Next?

  1. Stop attempting additional OTP entries.
  2. Contact the XTEN-AV Customer Support team for assistance.
  3. The support team will help verify the account and guide users through restoring login access.
