How can I create rooms for my drawings and make connections between different tabs?

Overview

In X-DRAW, creating rooms helps you organize your drawings and manage equipment more efficiently. You can also make connections between devices across different tabs to accurately represent signal routing and project layout.

Steps To create rooms

You can create a new area and assign products to it from the Search & Add Products page by following the steps below.

On Search & Add Products page, you can click on the Add Area option to add a new area to your design.

After clicking on it, enter the Area Name and click on the Add Area button.

A confirmation pop-up will appear asking if you want to switch your drawing by area.

Click Yes, Switch to Area.

Once a new Area is added to the project, all existing products from the BOM will automatically be copied to the Unassigned Area you can move the required products to the new created area.

Steps To make Connection between different tabs.

Click on the ‘Multi Tab Connection’ Option.

Once you click on it, the 'Multi Tab Connections' dialog box appears on the right side of the screen. Make a connection to the port / device. The port and connection details will be shown to you in the Source section of the dialog box.

Create a connection to another port. These port details will be shown to you in the Destination section of the dialog box. Click on the 'Connect' button. You can create multi-tab connections between two tabs and even within single tab.

Once you click on the Connect button, it will connect the ports of these product blocks. Click on the 'Unsaved Changes' button to save your connections.
