What is the difference between Room Wise, Only Summary, and Both in x.doc document?

Overview

In x.doc, the Room Display setting determines how rooms and their items are shown in the Rooms & Items section of the proposal or Client PDF.

Room Wise

Displays each room separately with all the products/items listed under their respective room. Use when you want clients to see a detailed breakdown of equipment by room.

• Navigate to the Rooms & Items page and select Rooms & Items Settings.
• Under Layout Preferences, select Room Wise to list items by room, then click Save & Close to save your changes.

• From the Actions button dropdown, select Preview to view the applied changes.
• Preview the document or generate the Client PDF to confirm that Rooms & Items are displayed room-wise.

Only Summary

Hides the individual room details and displays only a consolidated summary of all items. Rooms are not shown separately. Use when you want a clean, high-level overview without room-by-room details.

• Navigate to the Rooms & Items page and select Rooms & Items Settings.
• Under Layout Preferences, select Only Summary to display a consolidated list of all items, then click Save & Close to save your changes.

• From the Actions button dropdown, select Preview to view the applied changes.
• Preview the document or generate the Client PDF to confirm that only the summarized list of items is displayed, without room-wise grouping.

Both

Displays both the room-wise item listing and the consolidated summary in the same document. Use when clients need a detailed breakdown as well as an overall summary for easy reference.

• Navigate to the Rooms & Items page and select Rooms & Items Settings.
• Under Layout Preferences, select Both to display the room-wise item list followed by the consolidated summary, then click Save & Close to save your changes.

• From the Actions button dropdown, select Preview to view the applied changes.
• Preview the document or generate the Client PDF to confirm that both the room-wise breakdown and the summarized list of items are displayed in the document.
