# How to Show or Hide Summary for Rooms and Items?

**Overview**

This article explains how to show or hide the **summary for rooms and items** in your document or proposal.

This option helps control what information is visible in the summary section, making the document more detailed or more concise based on client requirements.

* Navigate to your proposal's 'Rooms & Items' section and select 'Rooms & Items Settings' from the right.

* The Rooms & Items Settings dialog box will open. Under **Layout** **Preferences**, select the Only Summary option.
* Once you’ve made your selection, click **Save** **&** **Close** to apply and save your settings.

* To see the changes, click on the **Actions** button and choose **Preview** from the drop-down menu.

* In the Preview, go to the **Rooms** **&** **Items** section. You’ll now see the summary view displayed there.

| Note: Please note that these changes will only appear in the Preview option and in the final proposal you send to the client.
