# How to Rename and Delete Tags?

**Overview**

This article explains how to **rename** or **delete tags**. Managing tags properly helps you keep your data organized and easy to find.

**Steps** **to** **Rename and Delete** **Tags**
* On the **x.doc** dashboard page, locate the tag you want to rename or delete.

1. Click the **Action** icon next to the tag.

* Clicking the **Action** icon opens the **Your Tag Settings** dialog box, where you can rename or delete the tag; click **Save** to apply your changes.

| Note: Deleted tags cannot be restored. Avoid deleting tags that are actively in use unless necessary.
