# How to recall an already submitted x.doc document?

**Introduction**

In **x.doc**, the **Recall** feature allows you to move a sent document back to the draft stage so you can make edits or updates as per your requirement.

**Recalling an x.doc Document**

* From the **x.doc dashboard**, locate the document you want to recall. You can only recall proposal from Sent and Viewed stage

* For the selected document, click the **Action** menu **(three dots ⋮)** and choose **Recall**.

* Click **Move to Draft** to recall the x.doc document.

* Once you click on it, the document will be moved to the **Draft** section, where you can edit and update it as per your requirement.

| When a document is recalled, it is moved to the draft stage, and an email will be sent to the client informing them that the document has been made void. Documents can only be recalled when they are in the Sent or Viewed stages.
