# How to change Labor type to Per Item labor? 

**Overview**


In **x.doc**, you can change the labor type to **Per Item Labor** and manage labor values for products in your library. This feature allows you to customize labor costs for individual items, helping you create more accurate and detailed cost estimations.


* From the dashboard, click **Settings** from the top-right profile menu.

* Go to **x.doc Settings**. Select the **Per Item** option under **Labor Type.** After updating the labor type, you must create a **new proposal** to apply your updated labor.

**Adding and Editing Labor**

* You can add new labor by clicking the **Add Labor** button and Enter the **Labor Description** and **Cost/hr.**

* You can edit **Per** **Item** **Labor** **Cost** for the corresponding labors by clicking the **Edit** button under **Action.**

**Managing Labor in Bulk**

* You can bulk update and manage product labor values in your library by clicking the **Manage Labor** option.

* You will be redirected to the **Per Item Labor page**, where you can update your labor for particular groups by selecting the group from the right side of the group filter.

* Under **Settings**, you can update: **Labor Description, Labor Cost to Company (/hr), Labor Cost to Client (/hr)**. You can also add new labor entries by clicking **Add Labor**, then click **Save** to apply the changes.

**Quick Update Option**

* Under **Quick Update**, you can Select specific **Brands** and **Categories** to update labor values. Enter the labor time for the selected brands and categories.
* Also, you can create a Labor Preset based on your selected brands and categories.

| Note: Only Super Admin and Admin can set labor values at the organization and group levels.
