# How to change Labor Type to Custom labor?

**Changing labor type to custom labor via settings**

* Click on the **profile icon** in the **top-right corner**. From the menu that appears, select the Settings option.

* You will be redirected to the **Settings** page. From the left navigation panel, click **x.doc Settings**. A dropdown list will appear—select **Labor Settings** to continue. Click the **Custom** option. The changes will be saved automatically.

**Changing Labor Type within a Proposal**

* Open the proposal in which you want to make changes. Click on the **“Rooms & Items”** option located in the left menu bar, then click on **“Labor Settings”** located in the right menu bar.

* Please select the **Custom** option from the **Labor Type**. This will apply the selected labor settings to current proposal. 

* To view labor costs by room, choose **“Room Wise”** under **Custom Labor Preferences**. After making the necessary changes, click **“Save & Close”** to apply and confirm your updates.
