# How to apply a Single Tax/Overall Tax on all items? 

**Overview**

The **Overall Tax** in **X-DOC** is a tax setting that applies to all the items in your **Bill of Materials (BOM).** It offers a convenient way to uniformly apply tax across all components of a project, ensuring accurate cost calculations.

* Open your proposal and navigate to the **Pricing Breakdown** section. Click **Pricing Breakdown Settings.**

**Setting Overall Tax**

* In the **Pricing Breakdown Settings** dialog box, enable **Overall Tax** under **Tax Preferences.**
* Click **Save and Close** to apply and save your changes.

**Viewing the Applied Tax**

* Once saved, the **Overall Tax** will be applied to all items in your proposal.
* You can view the applied tax in the **Pricing Breakdown table.**
