# How to add Markup/Margin in the Proposal?

**Introduction**

Adding a Markup or Margin to your proposal items in X-DOC is a straightforward process. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

**Adding a Markup or Margin**

* Inside your proposal, navigate to the **Rooms & Items** section and select **Rooms & Items Settings.**

* You can choose to apply either a **Markup** or **Margin** to your proposal. Once you make your selection, you will have the option to apply a **Global Markup/Margin.**
* Enter your desired value for the Global Markup or Margin.
* Click on the **Save & Close** button to save your changes.

* Once you've applied a global markup value, it will reflect on the cost price of all your items. To view or modify the markup for specific items, simply click on the **Edit** button associated with each product.

* Update the markup value as needed and click **Save & Close** to apply the changes.
