# How do I enter Settings Mode?

**Overview**

X.DOC **Settings Mode** allows users to configure and customize proposal sections, formatting styles, and document-level settings.

* Open the required proposal or document in the **X-DOC editor**.
* Click on the **Settings** option available left side of the page.

* The Settings Mode panel will open. On the right panel, choose **Preset Style Settings** and select **TEXT, TABLE, or PAGE** based on your requirement.

* Click on **Save Changes** to apply the updates or **Discard Changes** to cancel modifications.
