# How do I customize table styles?

**Overview**

In XTEN-AV, you can customize table styles in the X-DOC editor to control the overall appearance of tables in your documents.

* Open the required proposal or document in the **X-DOC editor**.
* Click on the **Settings** option available left side of the page.

* Click on **Table** under the **Preset Style Settings** section.

* Locate the **Table** under the **Table** section.

* Use the color box to select the **outer border color** and set its **thickness** using the numeric input (e.g., 1, 2, etc.).

* Review the changes in the table preview.

* Click on **Save Changes** to apply the updated styling.
