# How can I quickly create my first design without prior experience?

You can quickly create your first design in XTEN-AV even without prior experience by following these simple steps.

**Steps** **to** **create** a **design**

* You can directly create a design by clicking on the **“X-DRAW”** tab in the left navigation menu, then clicking on **“Create Design.”**

* Enter the design details, select the **Design Type**, **Design Template**, and **Project** (or create a new one), then click **“Create Design.”**

* Add products to your design using the **“Search & Add Products”** tool. You can also create your own items using the **“Add Custom Item”** feature.

* After adding the products to the BOM for the first time, click on the **“Edit Drawing”** button. This will take you to the editor page, where you can make changes to your line schematics.

* All products with port information added will appear as blocks with ports in the editor. The connections between the products need to be made manually by the user.

* You can search for and add products to your drawing using the **“Product Block”** feature.
* After adding the products, click on the **“Unsaved Changes”** button to save your work.
