# How can I change the User Group?

**Overview**

XTEN-AV allows Super Admins and Admins to move users from one Group to another through the **Users and Group Management** section. During this process, any projects and data associated with the user's current Group must be transferred to another user within that Group before the change can be completed.

**Steps to Change a User's Group**

* From the dashboard, click the **profile** icon in the top-right corner. Then select **User and Group Management**.

* Locate the user whose group you want to change. Click the **Action** button next to the user’s name. Select **Change User Group** from the menu.

* From the dropdown menu, select the **group** to which you want to move the user.
* While changing the user’s group, select the user to whom the data should be transferred.
* Click **Change Group** to save your changes.

**Important Notes**

* Only Super Admin and Admin users have permission to change user Groups.
* Before a user can be moved to a new Group, all projects and data associated with their current Group must be reassigned to another user within that Group.
* Carefully review the selected data recipient to ensure project ownership and access are transferred correctly.
* Changes take effect immediately after the Group update is completed.
